When the weather is nice, one of our favorite things to do is to sit outside on our patio with our pets, sip watermelon lemonade, and relax for awhile. This watermelon lemonade is really easy to make with just 4 ingredients and 4 steps. As always, I love to keep it simple, easy, and tasty.
What you’ll need
- cubed watermelon – I roughly cut mine since I know it’s just going to be blended. I usually use about 1/4 of a watermelon.
- lemons – This recipe calls for 3 lemons but I’ll sometimes use 4 when I prefer it a little more tart.
- sugar
- water
- blender
- mesh strainer
Let’s knock out this watermelon lemonade
- Blend watermelon
Blend watermelon until there are no more chunks. Pour that into a big bowl. I just used a mixing bowl.
- Juice lemons
Cut your lemons in half and juice them into the watermelon juice. I used a citrus juicer, but if you don’t have a juicer you can just use your hands.
- Strain juice
Strain the juice through the mesh strainer into a pitcher or carafe. I do this step with my pitcher sitting inside the sink. Stir the juice around in the strainer to help the juice filter through and throw away the leftover pulp.
- Add sugar and enjoy!
Add the sugar and mix until sugar is dissolved. Chill in the fridge and serve over ice! I like to cut some lemon circles to use as garnish. When drinking, I just toss the lemon wedge into the watermelon lemonade, kick back, and enjoy.
Watermelon Lemonade
Is there anything better than a refreshing glass of watermelon lemonade on the patio? This recipe is super simple with just 4 ingredients and 4 steps. Blend, juice, strain, mix and you're done!
Ingredients
- 8 cups of chopped watermelon (roughly 1/4 of a watermelon)
- 3 lemons
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 2 cups of water
Instructions
- Blend watermelon and pour into a large bowl
- Cut lemons in half and squeeze the lemon juice into the watermelon juice
- Pour through a strainer into a pitcher/carafe. Stir around the pulp to help the juice strain through.
- Add water and sugar and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Chill before serving. Fill individual glasses with ice before pouring. Garnish glasses with a lemon.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the amount of sugar or lemon to your desired sweetness and tartness! I prefer it on the tart side so I sometimes use 4 lemons instead of 3.
