One of our favorite things to eat at Korean restaurants is soy garlic fried chicken! We created this quick and easy version at home using frozen chicken tenders and ingredients that you likely already have at home. The result is sweet tangy deliciousness.
What you’ll need
- frozen chicken tenders
- soy sauce
- sugar
- water
- white vinegar
- garlic powder
- fresh minced garlic
- salt
- crushed red pepper flakes
Let’s get to cooking these delicious soy garlic chicken tenders!
- Make the sauce
Preheat the oven to 400°. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sugar, water, white vinegar, minced garlic, garlic powder, and salt. Heat a saucepan over medium heat and bring the sauce to a simmer. Simmer for about 10-15 minutes or until the sauce has slightly thickened.
- Prep and bake the chicken tenders
Place the chicken tenders in a casserole dish and pour the sauce over the chicken tenders. Turn the chicken tenders a couple of times to make sure they’re well coated with sauce. Bake for 20 minutes.
Notes for this recipe
The sauce needs more time to cook down than the chicken but we suspect you may actually be able to just put the sauce in the casserole dish by itself and bake it for about 20 minutes before adding the chicken to the sauce and baking for another 20 minutes. We haven’t tried this but we think it would do the trick! This way would also produce one less pan to wash and we’re all for that.
