This chocolate hazelnut croissant bread pudding was so good, we immediately made it again the day after we made it the first time! The use of croissants makes it extra decadent and delicious. Make this simple dessert and watch the compliments roll in!
What you’ll need for this amazing dessert
- croissants
- chocolate hazelnut spread
- heavy cream
- sweet and condensed milk
- eggs
- sugar
- vanilla extract
Let’s get to baking!
- Prepare croissants
Spray baking dish with nonstick spray. Slice croissants in half lengthwise and add chocolate hazelnut spread in between each croissant. Cut each croissant into about 4-5 pieces and spread evenly into the baking dish.
- Prepare the custard
In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Let the custard and croissants soak
Preheat oven to 350°F. Pour the custard mixture over the croissants and let soak for 15 minutes. I like to use my whisk or a fork to gently press down the croissant pieces to get as much of it soaking in the custard as I can.
- Bake
Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes or until center is set. If you notice there is still liquid in the center, bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until it’s all set. Serve warm. We recommend serving with ice cream!
Something we learned
Since the croissants you’re using may be a different size than we’re using, it may result in a little too much custard. If you find that’s the case after baking for 40 minutes, you can bake it a little longer and check it again. I would bake it for an additional 10 minutes and go from there. If the top is looking too dark, you can cover it with aluminum foil before adding the additional bake time.
