French toast is one of our favorite decadent breakfast foods! We love to make it as a weekend morning treat. We love regular french toast, but we decided to elevate by swapping out plain white or wheat bread for the more savory and buttery croissant! Also, being cinnamon lovers, we decided to coat the croissants in a sugary churro mixture for that extra dessert quality. If you already know how to make french toast, then you only have to follow a couple extra steps and you’ll have a brand new version of a breakfast classic with this churro croissant french toast recipe!
Let’s prepare our croissants and churro mixture!
While prepping your ingredients, go ahead and add oil to your pan and heat up the pan on medium heat. To prepare your french toast, you’ll slice the croissants lengthwise, whisk the eggs, and then make the special ingredient: mix the cinnamon and sugar to make a churro mix!
Time to start cooking churro croissant french toast!
Now the pan is hot and your ingredients are prepped. You can make sure your pan is hot enough by dripping a bit of egg in the pan; it should sizzle.
Dip a sliced croissant in the egg and make sure it’s well coated on each side. Place the croissant in the pan and flatten it out with a spatula. This ensures that each side will cook evenly. After your first piece is cooked, take the pan off the element to prevent it from getting too hot.
Add the final ingredient!
Now you have your first slice of french toast and it’s time to add the good stuff! Simply place the french toast in the cinnamon sugar mixture and toss and flip it around to completely coat it. Go ahead and plate your first slice.
Repeat the process for the rest of your croissants. You’ll want to add oil between cooking each piece as needed.
After you’ve plated your french toast, top with syrup or sweetened condensed milk and garnish with whipped cream and fresh strawberries if you like. Enjoy your churro croissant french toast for breakfast, brunch, or dessert!

Quick tips for Churro Croissant French Toast:
The pan will get too hot after the first piece of croissant so be sure to lower the heat to low-medium and remove the pan from heat between cooking each slice. Also, we’ve found the cinnamon sugar mixture will stick to the french toast more easily if you toss each piece in the mixture immediately after cooking instead of waiting until all the slices are cooked.
