Lunch can be tricky on busy days. Tuna pasta salad tastes great, is easy to make, can be prepared in little time, has lots of protein and important nutrients, and is perfect as leftovers! Since it’s served cold, you can grab a serving on your way out the door to work or enjoy it at home.
What you’ll need
- pasta – We used bow ties but use whatever you like!
- canned tuna – We prefer white albacore so we used that for this recipe.
- mayonnaise
- medium avocados
- red onion
- salt and pepper
Let’s make this tuna pasta salad in no time at all!
- Cook pasta according to package instructions. After it’s done cooking, drain in a colander and run the pasta under cold water. This will help it from cooking any further.
- Dice a quarter of a small red onion and cut the avocados into small chunks. Drain the cans of tuna.
- Mix all the ingredients together and salt and pepper to taste. Easy peasy!
A lot of recipes use peas but we don’t love peas so we it substituted with avocado for extra richness and creaminess.
Not at all, feel free to use any pasta you like!
We like to basically add garlic powder and onion powder to just about everything so we sprinkled some of each as well as a little bit of seasoned salt to our own servings when we eat this!
